About Birthing Brave
Hi, I’m Sarah, Full Spectrum Doula and owner of Birthing Brave!
I’m a firm believer that experience (how you feel) matters more than outcome (unmedicated, vaginal, cesarean).
Trauma is less likely to occur when you feel safe, supported, heard, and in control of your decisions.
I fell in love with birth during my first pregnancy. I spent hundred of hours learning everything I could about birth physiology, complications, and interventions. This knowledge became invaluable when during a 34 hour labor I encountered many of the challenges I had studied. The first day of labor was powerful and beautiful. But as complications began to pile up during that second day, I found myself feeling increasingly unsupported emotionally and mentally.
I knew that I wanted to change things for other women. I wanted them to feel the same strength and power - while also experiencing steady, informed support.
I truly believe in the incredible physiological process of birth - and I truly believe in the miracle that is modern medicine - not just for life saving properties, but also for convenience and comfort. I also believe that all women deserve prenatal education, when it comes to birth, as well as in-person support.
My goal as a birthworker is simple: to help women feel informed through prenatal education, supported during their birth, and in control of their decision making—so their birth experience feels empowering, no matter the outcome.
Past Client Experiences
“Having Sarah as my doula has been the BEST decision I had EVER made!
Even though I was pregnant with my 3rd child, I had some fears and concerns that I didn’t want to happen again and she helped me get through the whole process! We talked about ways what we could do differently this round and how to overcome those fears!
She is very informative, knowledgeable, helpful and is very passionate about what she does! I never had a birthing experience quite like this before!
Because of Sarah, I was able to have the BEST, smooth and most positive experience I’ve ever had (before, during and after) giving birth!
If I decide to have more kids down the road, Sarah is my go-to girl! I would hire her again in a heartbeat! Thank you for everything Sarah! 💕”

“On my second birth but learned so much. Sarah was really great at pointing me in the right direction for information and giving me points to think about, nutrition to take and excises to do to make birth easier. So happy to have worked with Sarah! Would highly recommend!”

Honestly, probably! I personally do not serve families who choose a wild pregnancy/freebirth (no medical interventions or personel at the birth). Beyond that, I have experience with induction, epidural, unmedicated, and waterbirth. If you are planning a C-Section let me know and I will adjust my services to best fit your needs.
-
Yes! While I am not specifically trained in neurodivergence, I tend to get along well with people on the neurodivergent spectrum. If you have any specific sensory or communication needs, please let me know!
-
Yes!!! My bachelors degree is in Family Studies: Family Services so I have a good understanding of how trauma affects the body and mind, as well as having my own trauma background. I am a big advocate of perinatal mental health, and give each of my clients a packet of perinatal resources. I always ask for consent before touch.
